DR MARK KAUSHAL MD

Dr. Kaushal is the founder and CEO of Medical Education Pathways (MedEdPathways) and sits on the Board of two non-profit organizations. His company has a unique model, focusing on providing opportunity for higher medical education to those students who may not have such opportunity. His non-profit work is split between two passions. The first is mentoring at-risk students in local urban high schools. The second is international service work in underdeveloped nations, sometimes in association with Rotary International. Dr. Kaushal also happens to be the President of the Rotary Club of Skokie Valley.

Dr Kaushal was born and raised in a family of medical doctors. His father is a surgeon, his mother is a pediatrician and he has one brother who specializes in Internal Medicine. Dr Kaushal obtained his Medical Degree in Europe from the Medical University of Debrecen in 1999. He was educated in Chicago and studied pre-med at Northwestern University. He furthered his studies into the spiritual and energy medicine and healing arena, exploring new possibilities and cutting edge therapeutic modalities in the treatment and management of diseases. He is a certified Reiki Master, which is an Eastern form of energy healing. He currently lives with his wife in a far suburb of Chicago, and continues his spiritual learning through reading, attending retreats and with the help of mentors/guides/advisors.

Mirroring his career, his spare time is often devoted to humanitarian and charitable work for many non-profit health organizations. He and his wife both volunteer on the medical staff for the AVON Walk for Breast Cancer and they couple also volunteer and emcee the American Cancer Society’s annual ‘Relay for Life’. Dr. Kaushal is also starting a non-profit branch of his own company with the idea of taking underprivileged students to medical school for free. They would return to work in the rural or urban areas which are currently underserved and where the physician shortage is expected to get worse in the next few years.
